The Daily Schedule is used by the Daily Trend Report to determine where to place an event. There are 8 time blocks defined:
The first thing you should do is determine how you will use Best 4 Diabetes. If you intend to only
enter glucose readings, then choose Fixed, based on time and fill in the times of
day below. An event will be placed in a time block according to the values you choose on this
page. The order of the times you enter here is important. Wake must be set before breakfast,
breakfast must be set before lunch, lunch before dinner and dinner before bed time. The meal
times should correspond to the times you start eating a meal.
You and your Health Care Team will get much more out of Best 4 Diabetes if you also enter medicine,
food and miscellaneous events. It really isn't enough to know that you went high or
low - it is important to also understand why your readings differ from normal,
especially if they greatly differ. Entering this other information will help you
and your Health Care Team understand the discrepancies. When you decide to enter other
information, choose Variable, based on foods. The placement of events before
or after a meal will correspond to the actual time that you ate, not an arbitrary
time. While our parents may have eaten meals at regular times, this is becoming more
difficult in our complex world. More that ever before in diabetes management
history, better medicines and procedures provide people with
diabetes more flexibility to eat when then want to eat. However, that flexibility
comes at a small price of better tracking your daily
events. The times you select should be the latest time you typically eat a meal and will
only be used when you skip a meal.
The time blocks used by the Daily Trend Report are only meaningful if you eat on a day shift. They cannot be used if you work the third shift.
