Help Topic: Profile Preferences
Best 4 Diabetes allows you to make choices about how you want to see certain information and how you
want to interact with the system.
- All Pages
- These two radio buttons determine how much instruction you receive on each screen. We
suggest that you leave
New Member checked for at least the first few times that
you use Best 4 Diabetes. We have included hints on many screens to help those who are new to
Best 4 Diabetes. Once you are comfortable with the system and don't need all of the instructions
shown, you can check Experienced Member to remove these hints, thereby
streamlining the screens more.
- Personalized Home Page. This section let's you specify what you want to see
on your Personalized Home Page. There are currently four choices
available. Click on the checkbox for any items that you want to see on your
Home Page. Uncheck the checkbox for any item you do not want to see.
- Show last event entered. This is convenient to know if you haven't
entered any events for a few days. It helps you decide the date and time to choose on
the Enter Events page when you are ready to enter new events.
- Show Glucose Averages. Display a summary of the your glucose averages
for the last 30, 14, 7, and 1 day(s).
- Show Insulins Taken. This option is available to you if you
indicated that you take insulin on the Profile : Medicines page.
- Show Basal Schedule. This option is only available for people who use
an insulin pump.
- Upload Meter.
- Upload Introduction. This checkbox indicates that you want to see the Upload Introduction every time you go to
Upload Meters.
- Serial Port. By using this drop down selection box, you can specify the
serial port that Best 4 Diabetes should use to read your meter.
Any should work most
of the time but if you have problems with that setting, you may need to indicate the exact
serial port rather than having the system try to find it. Setting a value other than
Any may make upload start a second or two faster.
- Record Events.
- Reports. There are currently three options you can use to determine
how reports are displayed and formatted.
- Maximum Glucose. On the Scatter Plots and Standard Deviation Graphs,
this number specifies the upper limit of the graph. Any readings that are higher than this
number will be displayed at this number.
- % Default zoom. If you want your reports to appear larger on the screen,
enter a number greater than 100%. If your eyesight is very good and you want the reports to
be smaller, enter a number smaller than 100%. Zoom only affects what you see on the screen,
not what you see on printed reports.
- Show time of day using Military format. With this check box you can
display times on reports in 24 hour military format (e.g., 16:00) instead of using
AM/PM (e.g., 4:00 PM).
- Health Care Team. You can specify the salutation (Dr., Mr., Ms., etc),
name and email address of one Health Care Team member to whom you usually send your
reports. When you come to the Reports : Team Share : Prepare Email
page, this information will be automatically populated for your convenience. You can always
change these values on that page before sending the report.
