ALL Reports

These features are common to all reports

• Report Command Bar. This is the light red bar below the Report tab.

  

  It contains the following links.

  • New Date Range. This will take you to the two calendars that you use to select the First and Last dates of the report. You only need to return to this page if you want to change Report dates. The name of the report that is currently selected is shown in Red. Other reports you may wish to go to are colored Gray.
  • Report Name. There are seven report names listed on the Report Command Bar. To select a new Report, put your cursor over the Report name. When the hand appears, click once and the Report will be displayed.
  • Team Share. When you view a Report, you can select it to be stored and later emailed to your Health Care Team. The Team Share page provides a list of all the reports that you've previously saved. From here you can email the selected reports, see your list of reports including when reports were opened by your Health Care Team or delete any that are no longer needed.
• Report Information. Under the page title you'll see:
  • From Date. The first date of the Report.
  • To Date. The last date of the Report.
  • Glucose ranges. Your Normal and After Meal Glucose ranges are displayed. Best 4 Diabetes gets these from your Profile : Blood Sugar Targets page.
• Buttons.
  • Printing.
    

    Important: You must use these buttons. Do not your browser print function to print reports. Using your browser print function while viewing a report will generate an error message on the print out.

    When you press this button after creating a new report, you will get a Confirmation Needed - Print box which will looks something like this:

    

    This is a security message that warns you that a Java applet is asking to use the printer. Click Yes. Unfortunately, even if you check the Don't show this dialog box again, you will see it the next time you run a different report. This message is under the browser's control and Best 4 Diabetes cannot change this behavior.
    • Page Setup. This button brings up the Page Setup dialog box. Best 4 Diabetes sets the following, which you can change:
      • Landscape is used for all Reports except Detail Report, which is printed in Portrait mode.
      • Margins at .5 inches.
    • Print. This will bring up the browser's Print dialog box. You can change the printer settings if you need to and press OK to send the report to the printer.

  • Zooming. You can change the Zoom to a percent of the Best 4 Diabetes setting, which is 100% and is based on the current width of the screen. Percentages larger than 100% show larger reports with larger text and percentages less than 100% show smaller reports with smaller text. To change the Zoom while viewing a Report, use the gray buttons:
    • Zoom In. Make the report larger.
    • Zoom Out. Make the report smaller.
    • Reset. Reset the report to the default listed in Profile : Preferences
    The current Zoom percent is displayed just right of the buttons. The maximum Zoom that you can effectively use depends on your computer's memory. If there is not enough memory for a given zoom, the reports will be cropped on the right and on the bottom.

    Zoom only affects reports that you view on your computer monitor. It does not have any effect on printed reports. You can also change the Zoom number you want to use whenever you run reports by going to the Profile : Preferences page.

  • Add to Team Share. Press this button to add the displayed Report to your Team Share. When you have added all of the reports that you want to add, you can go to the Team Share page and send them all with one email message.

• Color Legend. All Reports use colors to indicate Glucose Measurements, according to the targets that you set on your Profile : Blood Sugar Targets page. If you did not fill in this page, Best 4 Diabetes uses the following standard target ranges:

  	Normal Target:	70	to	120
  	After Meals Target:	70	to	140
  	Hypoglycemic Level:	60 or less
  	Hyperglycemic Level:	240 or more

  If the measurement is within the Typical Digestion time of a meal, as recorded on your Profile : Blood Sugar Targets page, your After Meals Range is used. Otherwise your Normal Range is used.

  Blood glucose measurements are shown in the following colors.

  Within normal range:	Green
  Between normal and hypoglycemic or    between normal and hyperglycemic:	Yellow
  Hypoglycemic or Hyperglycemic:	Red

  If the colors look familiar, like a traffic light, that's what the designers intended. After all, you should be responding to the sugars that aren't normal as you would respond at a traffic light. Green is ok - go, Yellow is caution - slow down, Red is stop - something is wrong.

• Editing from reports. You can do more than just look at reports. You can also edit events directly from any report that identifies a single event. Since the Standard Deviation reports don't identify individual events, you cannot edit events from them.

  To edit an event, put your cursor over the colored portion of the event. When a hand appears, click once and a list of actions will display. Click on Edit to bring up the Edit Events page for that Event Group. Now you can make your changes, and when done press the Save Events button to save your changes. When you edit an event from a report like this, the Event Confirmation page will include a link to take you back to the report you were viewing.

  The other action you will see when you click on an event is Show Events Calendar. Clicking on this option will open the Events Calendar, if it is not already open, and change the date to the date of the event that you just chose. If Events Calendar is open, this action will also change the date and pop the window to the top.

Daily Reports

These features are common to Daily Reports.

• Medicine Summary. On the top of each Daily Report, you'll see a summary of your Medications. If you take insulin by injection or pen, Best 4 Diabetes displays the list of insulins that you selected on your Profile : Medicines page. If you use an Insulin Pump, your Basal Schedule is displayed.
• Additional Colors. In addition to the Green, Yellow and Red colors used for glucose measurements, Brown is used for foods and Blue is used to show Insulin doses.

Timeline Reports and Period Reports

The Vertical Axis is the Glucose scale in mg/dL.

Timeline Reports

The Horizontal Axis is the timeline. The first date is at the left end of the graph and the last date is at the right end.
